  • PO missing finish call out
  • PO contradicts info on prints
  • Spec callout is incomplete. Typically specs should include the following:
    • Number
    • Type
    • Class
    • Color (if applicable)
    • Thickness (if different than standard)
    • Example

  • Spec callout is incorrect. Here are the most common processes – specs:
    • Anodize – MIL-A-8625
    • Chromate – MIL-DTL-5541
    • Electroless Nickel – ASTM-B733
    • Zinc – ASTM-B633

Q: When should we provide a 2D drawing?
A: 2D drawings are needed for the following applications:
  • Masking
  • Laser Marking (original electronic file NOT scanned PDF)
  • Silk-screening (original electronic file NOT scanned PDF)
  • Paint or Powder
  • Multiple Processes
Q: When should we provide a 3D file?
A: 3D files are needed for the following applications:
  • Hardcoat Anodize
